Join us for an 8 day off road adventure following in the footsteps of the early gold prospectors as they opened up the goldfields of Coolgardie.
This trip is 4 nights camping / 3 nights accommodated:
This fully inclusive trip is a mixture of motel and remote camping: it includes all meals, easy camping nights and hotel/motel accommodation where feasible.
We will take you on a fun-filled adventure along the backroads of WA, exploring remote historical sites and iconic 4wd routes.

Tagalong option
Have you got a 4wd that you would like to put through its paces?
We will give you peace of mind travelling in a convoy of vehicles with competent guides, who are great bush mechanics. Learn about your vehicle’s capabilities, absorb some get-out-of-trouble tricks and pick up some great hints for touring meals and campfire cooking.
Tour price upon application. Per vehicle, for 2 people. Cost includes all meals and motel accommodation.
Itinerary
DAY 1
We leave Perth for Broomehill and the start of the Holland Track.
From there we travel to Nowernalup Tank, one of John Holland’s first stops and walk in to view the commemorative plaque.
We lunch somewhere on the road and stop at spots of significance, such as Holland Rock, Silver Wattle Hill and Dragon Rocks, tracing Holland’s steps and examining the water sources he found. Some of the gnamma holes might still have their original capping on them.
Our overnight stop is at Hyden, with the wonderful hospitality of the Wave Rock Resort.

DAY 2
Leaving Hyden, we travel back to the Holland Track and take some time to stop at as many of Holland’s camps as possible.
Emu Rocks, the view from Mt Holland are worth investigating.
Tonight is a bush camp, somewhere along the Track.

DAY 3
Continuing along the Holland Track we explore Agnes Gnamma Hole, Diamond and Thursday Rocks, and Pigeon Hole, depending on accessibility.
Victoria Rock is a magnificent example of the rockholes of the Holland Track and we take time to climb it.
On our way to the end of the Track, we visit Gnarlbine Rock which was one of the principal water sources for the original Coolgardie goldrush at Bailey’s Find.

DAY 4
We travel out to Burra Rocks/Cave Hill Reserve and take in more examples of the significance of the granite gnamma rockholes and their importance in opening up this area to explorers, prospectors and farmers.
Exploring the Cave Hill Woodlines we follow some of the many kilometres of railway tramlines that crisscrossed this area in the early days of Gold mining in the area. There’s also the chance to search for ancient indigineous cave art.
Tonight is a bush camp.

DAY 5
Continuing to explore the Woodlines we make our way to Norseman, maybe trying our hand at a little prospecting along the way.

DAY 6
We head to Peak Charles National Park and camp in this spectacular region, travelling via Frank Hann National Park.
Overnight bush camp
Includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
DAY 7
Still traveling through the bush, we head in to lake king and explore the granite rock regions of this stunning breakaway country.
Overnight Hyden Resort.

Back to Perth, stopping at some wheat belt towns and checking out the local features.
