HISTORICAL SERIES: GEORGIANA MOLLOY

February 19 – 21

March 19 – 21

In 1829, as a young bride of 24, married to a pioneering sea captain,  Georgiana Molloy started a new life in Western Australia, helping to found the settlement of Augusta. She experienced incredible hardships but found great satisfaction in her study and identification of the unique flora of Western Australia. She became WA’s first and premier female botanist by way of the plant species she collected, detailed and sent off to an English acquaintance.

As part of our series of historical influencers of Australia we are delighted to share her history and her mark on the WA landscape with you. We visit many of the historical places she originally settled and learn more about her life story and that of her descendants.

This three day tour focuses on this amazing lady and her exploits but also encompasses a few other mystery weekend activities and locations.
